DP-600 study resources

Updated October 9, 2026

The best DP-600 resources are free: Microsoft’s study guide with the skills outline, the official practice assessment, the Fabric documentation, and a workspace in which you build things. Add realistic practice questions to find your weak domain. The thing to watch is outdated material: Fabric changes often and the English exam outline changes on October 19, 2026, so check older courses against the current objectives.

The exam page also lists self-paced learning paths and an instructor-led course in its preparation section; browse it for the current titles rather than relying on a list that may age.

Read the study guide objective by objective, once at the start and once a week before the exam. The skills outline guide on this site, how to read a skills outline, shows a method.

Documentation worth reading

The study guide points to the Fabric documentation. Focus on these pages and the areas around them:

From there, search the documentation for the topics in the weighted list below. Use the documentation, not memory, for current limits and settings.

What to read, by weight

DomainWeightDocumentation topics to search
Prepare data45–50%Shortcuts, mirroring, pipelines, Dataflow Gen2, warehouse T-SQL, KQL
Maintain a solution25–30%Workspace roles, row-level security, sensitivity labels, Git integration, deployment pipelines
Semantic models25–30%Storage modes, Direct Lake, composite models, calculation groups, incremental refresh

Labs that cover most of the exam

You need a Fabric workspace for these. Do each once and note the settings you had to look up.

  1. Create a lakehouse, load files, add a shortcut and query the SQL analytics endpoint.
  2. Create a warehouse, load data with COPY INTO, and write a view, a function and a stored procedure.
  3. Create an eventhouse and run KQL with where and summarize.
  4. Build a semantic model with a star schema and test Import, DirectQuery and Direct Lake.
  5. Write measures with variables, an iterator and a windowing function; add a calculation group.
  6. Apply row-level security, sensitivity labels and endorsement.
  7. Connect a workspace to Git and build a deployment pipeline with a rule.
  8. Configure incremental refresh in a Power BI Desktop project.

Practice questions

Use the official practice assessment first, then the free practice test and sample questions on this site, and a larger bank when you need volume. Whatever the source, read every explanation: the reasoning matters more than the score. Be wary of any resource claiming to hold the real exam questions. Microsoft prohibits that, and it will not teach you the skills.

Community and video

The study guide lists Microsoft Q&A, the Microsoft Fabric Blog and the Exam Readiness Zone video series. Treat blog posts as pointers and confirm details in the documentation.
