The Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate exam assesses your ability to use Databricks SQL and the platform’s analytics tooling to query data, analyse it, and present it to other people.
It is the analyst counterpart to the Data Engineer Associate. Where that exam is about building pipelines, this is about querying what they produce, visualising it, and sharing it — including through AI/BI Genie spaces, which is distinctive to this certification.
Databricks recommends 6+ months of hands-on experience with the data analysis tasks in the exam guide. There are no prerequisites.

Nine sections, and the distribution is analyst-shaped. Querying, visualising and analysing together are 51% — half the exam is the core analyst loop of asking a question, checking the answer, and showing it to someone.
AI/BI Genie spaces at 12% is the section with no counterpart on any other Databricks exam, and the one most likely to be unfamiliar even to experienced analysts.
Importing data and data modelling are 5% each — roughly two questions apiece. This exam assumes data arrives; it is not about building pipelines.
