Free AB-730 sample questions with answers

Here are five free AB-730 sample questions covering all four skill areas, with the answer and the reasoning behind it. Try each one before reading the explanation. These are original scenario questions written against the official skills outline, not questions from the real exam.

Question 1. A sales manager asks Copilot to summarise a market report and gets a confident paragraph that includes a statistic she cannot find in the report. What is the most appropriate next step?

  • A. Ask Copilot to rewrite the summary in a more confident tone
  • B. Share the summary with the team and wait for corrections
  • C. Check the statistic against the source document and review it before using it
  • D. Delete the chat so the statistic is not reused
Show answer

Answer: C

An AI answer can contain fabricated or inaccurate details, so the right control is verification: check the claim against the cited source and apply human review before using it. Asking Copilot to sound more confident does nothing to improve accuracy. Sharing it first spreads a possible error. Deleting the chat discards the evidence and does not address the risk of relying on the output.

Question 2. Every Monday morning an analyst types the same prompt asking Copilot for a digest of last week's project updates. She wants it to run without her typing it each time. What should she do?

  • A. Schedule the prompt
  • B. Share the prompt with her team
  • C. Rename the chat to include the word Monday
  • D. Filter her chats by agent
Show answer

Answer: A

A prompt can be saved and scheduled, which fits a recurring request. Sharing a prompt gives colleagues access to it but does not run it for her. Renaming a chat only changes its label. Filtering chats by an agent helps find conversations and has no effect on repeating a request.

Question 3. A project lead wants to keep related chats, files and notes about a product launch in one place that Copilot can draw on, and share it with two colleagues. Which feature fits best?

  • A. Deleting old chats to reduce clutter
  • B. A saved prompt
  • C. A Copilot Page
  • D. A notebook
Show answer

Answer: D

Notebooks organise related information, such as chats, files and notes, and can be shared. Deleting old chats removes content rather than organising it. A saved prompt stores one instruction, not a body of material. Copilot Pages is for collaborating on a piece of content, which is not the same as collecting source material for later questions.

Question 4. A team lead joins a meeting that started 20 minutes ago and needs to understand what has been discussed without interrupting. Which Copilot capability is designed for this?

  • A. Intelligent recap
  • B. Real-time catchup
  • C. The Facilitator agent
  • D. Meeting preparation
Show answer

Answer: B

Real-time catchup summarises what has happened so far in a meeting so a late joiner can get up to speed. Intelligent recap is produced after the meeting for a full summary. The Facilitator agent helps run the agenda and notes during the meeting rather than catching up one person. Preparing for a meeting happens before it starts.

Question 5. A finance team wants help with a recurring monthly workflow. A prebuilt agent covers most of the steps, but one step is specific to their company. What is the best first approach?

  • A. Build a fully custom agent before trying anything else
  • B. Try the prebuilt agent first and decide whether the specific step needs a custom approach
  • C. Do the whole workflow manually each month
  • D. Avoid agents because one step is specific
Show answer

Answer: B

The outline expects you to weigh a prebuilt agent against a custom one. When a prebuilt agent covers most of the need, start with it and decide whether the company-specific step justifies something custom. Building a custom agent first adds effort the team may not need. Doing the work by hand ignores the value of an agent. Refusing agents altogether does not address the business goal.

How did you do?

Question 3 is a typical look-alike trap: notebooks, pages and saved prompts all store something, but different things. If you hesitated there, read prompts and chats explained. For the meeting features in question 4, see business content and collaboration explained, and for question 5 see agents and Cowork explained. Question 1 is the heart of generative AI fundamentals.
